When I was 18, I was traveling in Thailand. I met a man whom I fell in love with, but knew we could never be together. Nothing ever happened between us, except that right after we said goodbye, he kissed me, and nothing more was said.
I knew I would probably never see him again, but I was overwhelmed with gratitude just to be able to feel that love in my heart. For it was mine to carry.
Later that day, I was riding on the back of an elephant with a little travel guitar in my hand, and "Touch" was born.
Sometimes its ok
To just be
Don’t worry if you are
You are free
We are not talk
We are not words
It’s not necessary to speak
To be heard
And when the world seems too much
Remember that two souls can touch.
Sometimes its ok
To not think
Though it seems like a world of not love,
But things
There is peace in the shadows
Hope in the cracks
There is comfort in a gentle hand
On your back
And when the world seems too much
Remember that two souls can touch.
To shed our skin and leave
All of our lies behind
An unveiling of the heart
An exposure of the mind
For I hope that truth is our goal
And honesty our supply
For a world of hope
And a religion of kindness
And a mind of peace-
I would die.
And when the world seems too much
Remember, that two souls can touch.
